# Sending Submissions

> How to send form data to your Submito endpoint via JSON.

## Endpoint

```
POST https://submito.dev/api/v1/{slug}/submit
```

Replace `{slug}` with your form's endpoint slug, found in your dashboard.

## Headers

| Header | Required | Value |
| - | - | - |
| `x-api-key` | Yes | Your API key |
| `Content-Type` | Yes | `application/json` |

## Request body

Send any JSON object — Submito forwards every field to your inbox. There are no required fields, just make sure you send at least one.

```json theme={null}
{
  "name": "John Doe",
  "email": "john@example.com",
  "message": "Hello, I'd like to get in touch.",
  "phone": "+1 555 000 0000"
}
```

> [!NOTE]
>
> You can send any fields you want. All of them will appear in the notification email.

## Response

A successful submission returns a `201` status with:

```json theme={null}
{
  "ok": true,
  "submissionId": "abc123..."
}
```

## Full example

```bash theme={null}
curl -X POST https://submito.dev/api/v1/your-endpoint-slug/submit \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -H "x-api-key: your-api-key" \
  -d '{
    "name": "John Doe",
    "email": "john@example.com",
    "message": "Hello!"
  }'
```

See [Response Codes](https://docs.submito.dev/reference/response-codes.md) for a full list of possible responses.
